Summer Reading

Dear WPS K-12 Families and Students,

Make the Most of Your Summer: Read, Relax, and Get Ready for Next Year! Summer is the perfect time to kick back, relax, and recharge. Here in Westerly, our K-12 summer reading committees have put together some fantastic recommendations to help you do just that while keeping your mind sharp for a successful 2025-2026 school year. We really hope you'll read for pleasure this summer, but we also want to help you avoid the "summer slide" and even earn some cool incentives along the way!

Elementary School Reading Fun (Incoming K-4)
Our youngest readers can earn virtual badges for every 15 minutes they read. Each badge gets you a ticket for awesome prizes! It's a fun way to watch your reading grow.  Another recommended resource for parents is Lexia Core 5: Kindergarten-Grade 5 Summer Bingo activities.

Finally, don’t forgot about our beautiful community Westerly’s Public Library, which is hosting Kickoff Event of LEVEL UP YOUR LIBRARY! Summer Reading Program on June 28, 2025 at 12:00 pm.
